Busy Busy Busy Weekend

Yes that title seems to about sum it up, my adventures started on Friday with a bike trip out to that nice vacant field along Mission Street. As I had mentioned in a previous post I had just gotten my front bike tire fixed, but after a few days it seemed to have developed a slow leak because when I got my bike out on Friday the tire was pretty low, but I pumped it up and it was fine for the day so I headed out in my Blue Zentai with the hope of catching a train going by for background for a few of my shots and perhaps a short video clip. Now the funny thing is, is that whenever I've popped out to this field there always seems to be a train coming by, I swear this has to be one of the busiest train tracks here in Winnipeg, lol... Anyways, wouldn't you just know it, not a single train during my 30 to 40 minutes in this field, lunch time was past so I was getting a little hungry for my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that I had brought with me so after shooting a few shots I packed up my gear and headed toward the path and just as I got on my bike to head down the path back to the main road sure enough here comes a train... "Oh bugger! I said to myself, "Well maybe tomorrow I'll have better luck".
Later on in the afternoon after I had finished my lunch down at the Forks I figured I'd head back to the field and see if I could catch a train this time, nope, but I did snap a few by the tall dandelions along the path and then called it quits for the day after stopping by the Exchange District to check out some of the Fringe Festival's free stage where some girl came up to me and said; "I bet you can ride that REALLY fast!". Pardon me I said because I did not hear her very well and she repeated. I laughed and said; "Oh yeah, especially down hill." :/ lol
Saturday was a pretty busy day, I had gone out for a morning run which is unusual if I'm planning to bike ride that day as well, but did it anyways. Afterwards it was a trip up to "Bikes And Beyond" on Henderson Hwy to get a new front tire and inner tube for my bike to fix that slow leak issue once and for all since my front tore was totally flat by morning. There were a few more clouds in the sky so I figured I would go out with my Black Zentai and try my luck with catching a train, the sky was clear enough and bright enough that my black suit would catch the light really well so off I went with my gear and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch again... and so we waited... and we waited... and just to be sure we waited a little longer... I think in total a good hour and a half... yes I can be very patient lol. Nada, zippo, the big fat zero, no train, WTF I thought lol. I packed up and headed to the Forks area for my lunch and then some more bike riding around for a few hours. Headed down to catch a little bit of the Fringe Festival's free stage in the Exchange district to see what was going on there and then home.
Now we come to Sunday... Ahh what a day, not a cloud in the sky and I wish I had worn my blue Zentai because I finally got lucky with a train, instead I had worn my black suit just because I really like the fit of that suit and it catches the sunlight really well. My camera was set up perfectly, I was framed just right in the frame and everything. Goth some great shots and video. Afterwards it was down to the Forks area for lunch and then around a bit for some more bike riding. Later on after another trip to the field for some more shots I headed over the the Fringe Festival since it was the last day to check things out. I caught a pretty cool Contortionist who has his own website called "Flexible Comedy." Now I can safely say that I have never in my life seen someone poke themselves through a tennis racket, and I REALLY do mean put themselves one leg at a time and their entire body right through a tennis racket, this guy was sure flexible and very humorous too.

Zentai Shoot and Landing Helicopters

I had an interesting day yesterday when I was out shooting some more Zentai, this time with my Grey suit. Next to this field I go out to is a landing pad for two of those egg beater type helicopters, each time I've popped out there to do a Zentai shoot I had been hoping to catch a video maybe of them taking off or landing, well yesterday I got my wish, both of them at the same time were coming in for a landing so one had to circle the field until the first helicopter was down on the ground. Managed to get a cool little video that I popped up on my YouTube channel just for fun.

Chinese Food, Fortune Cookies & Spaceships

Like I mentioned in my last post I must have worked up an appetite with that extra lap over the Louise Bridge and through the Fort Gibralter trail and back down Waterfront. Takes about 10 or so minutes to go around that route, give or take? Got home, hit the shower, got dressed and headed over the the Kung Po, a small neighborhood Chinese restaurant right across the street from my place... gotta love convenience. They serve up a big plate of Egg Fried rice, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls, Chop suey with BBQ'd Pork, and honey garlic chicken... man that plate was loaded but I ate it all up as you can see lol.

After I had finished they brought my Fortune cookie which had the most perfect fortune in it ever, especially after having such a creative and active day. :)

And yes! I did finally finish that spacecraft 3D model I had been slack assing my way through, I kept thinking; "OK there REALLY has to be a point where I'm going to call this thing Done." sometimes you can just keep adding and adding to a project like that. Done, done and double done and available on my Turbosquid

Green Man Zentai Shoot

I got back from my bike ride and outdoor Zentai shoot just in time today... well with a little time to spare before it started raining, time enough to pop over to my favorite neighborhood Chinese place (kung Po) for an early dinner... seems I worked up quite an appetite today, must have been that extra lap around the Fort Gibralter trail.
Looking at some of the shots from my blue suit series I kept thinking this would have been great if I wore my green suit and my "Fuck You I'm a Flower" T-shirt... nothing quite like getting a little "Plant Man" revenge in there lol

Sunday's Blue Zentai Fun

Ahh yes, a beautiful sunny Sunday who could ask for more? I had been waiting somewhat patiently for a good quiet sunny Sunday to try and get out to these old rusty giant steel pipes to do some Zentai shot with my electric blue suit. Once done there it was off to my favorite isolated field by the train tracks to try and capture some spooky shots for another Gothic theme I want to work on... boy I tell ya, by the end of the summer I'm going to have a boat load of images to process. lol

This Friday's Gothic Zentai Shoot

This Friday's Gothic Zentai Shoot out at my favorite isolated field was a perfect mix of cloudy sky with some sunny breaks which was just what I was after for this particular shooting. What I plan to do with these and the rest from the series is touch them up a bit in Corell Painter with some de saturation and give them a water color edge effect using the salt technique to give them a more "Gothic" or darker look. I'll place the whole set untouched on my Deviant art for the time being.

New Spacecraft model W.I.P.

Another spacecraft 3D model I've been working on which I should have been finished ages ago but I've REALLY been "doging" it on this one it being summer and all lol, our summers are so short and you know how I like to get out and make the most of it as possible, not that we've had the greatest of summers this year with the Forks River trail still being under a good 3 feet of water :(

Anyways... I've been adding all sorts of surface details to this model. I was hoping to finish it this weekend but I keep thinking I want to add more to it so I'll probably give it another week before I finally say; "OK, I'm done." :D

Thurday's Black Zentai & Gasmask shoot

This past Thursday I went out to my favorite isolated field where there is a train bridge that passes over top of the path and shot some pictures for a Gothic series I'm going to try and work on, so many images to process, but I'll most likely only process the popular ones. Not all the images from the series are here just a few I liked best, I'll eventually put them up on my Deviant Art soon.
I noticed that the city actually cuts the grass, or I should say cuts down the tall weeds and scrub in that field as when I out doing this shoot on the path under the train bridge there was a tractor cutting it's way across the field. When I went out yesterday (Friday) to do another Gothic Zentai shoot the field is much easier to get across without all the tall scrub :D I'll make another blog entry tomorrow about that shoot.
